20 Years of Practical Business Wisdom from the Trenches

Years ago, when nationally syndicated radio host and serial entrepreneur Dave Ramsey wanted to grow his business, the Lampo Group, he realized a limiting factor to his desired was the capacity of the individuals working within his organization.

While very good at performing within their disciplines, members of his staff lacked direction when it came to fulfilling the greater mission of Ramsey’s company. Staffers of the Lampo Group were unable to perform at a high level without his immediate oversight to serve as a compass and direct their day-to-day work.

In wanting his team to embody the values of disciplined risk-taking and motivated vision that an entrepreneur would have, but also the loyal servant mentality and value in life-long learning that a high level leader would possess, Ramsey birthed the teachings of his EntreLeadership program.

As a class and training program meant to teach his employees to lead themselves, EntreLeadership was first limited to employees of the Lampo Group. As Ramsey’s staff became inspired by the EntreLeadership course material they began to ask if friends, family, and even pastors could attend.

Now, the program’s ever growing popularity has earned itself a separate division of Ramsey’s company. The Ramsey brand now organizes single-day and multi-day events around the EntreLeadership concept, generating great revenues for the Lampo Group.

In his book, EntreLeadership: 20 Years of Practical Business Wisdom from the Trenches, Ramsey discusses the origins of his company, its EntreLeadership culture, and how he and his team apply the tenets of the EntreLeadership every day.

In reading the book we get a glimpse of what has worked and not worked for Ramsey over the last few decades. He covers everything from getting started in business, to hiring and firing employees, delivering results in sales and marketing, as well as while motivating a company to perform at its highest level.

Now, even many years later, the principles of EntreLeadership are still the foundation on which Ramsey runs his enterprise. The effectiveness of the philosophy speaks for itself when you consider the exponential growth and popularity Ramsey’s brand has experienced year after year.
